Executive team

Marina Romero / Founding partner
Civil Engineer from UPM (Polytechnic University of Madrid), with postgraduate studies in management at IESE Business School and at IEB (Institute of Stock Market Studies). Her professional experience includes technical management positions within consulting and management in the real estate and construction sector. In 2001, she became a pioneer of digitalization within the construction and property sectors and, for several years, led the Spanish operations of ATVIEW, the multinational. Since then, she has had management roles in other property companies such as Monteverde Real Estate and ACS, looking after projects to the value of 1.000 M euros. During the recession, she developed and oversaw a number of different management and marketing platforms for over 10,000 repossessed properties throughout Spain. In recent years, she has developed a mediation programme for solving disputes arising from evictions and repossessions as part of her clients´ Corporate Social Responsibility offering.

Javier Hernández / Founding partner
Bachelor´s Degree in Economics from Madrid´s Autónoma University, and with more than 25 years of professional experience in the real estate sector. During the 90s he helped set up the real estate consultancy areas of Lar Group and Aguirre Newman in Spain working for the first funds that invested in our country. Since then, he has held general management positions in several of the major companies in the sector: Parquesol, taking part in the company’s IPO, as well as in the investment of 1,200 M euros in real estate assets in Spain and France and in the further divestment of 2,000 M euros; and in Naropa Capital, with more than 900 M euros managed in real estate assets with an income of over 40 million euros, in Spain, Portugal, France and Switzerland.

Paloma Romero Bueno / CFO
With various degrees in Business Administration specialized in Finance and Auditing from an array of prestigious univerities and institutions such as ; C.U.N.E.F ( colegio universitario de estudios financieros ) and Postgraduate studies at the Complutense University of Madrid, University of Nebrija, INSEM Business School and AFI school of finance and her 20 plus years of experience in the real estate, financial and service sectors has made her one of the top managers in her areas.
Having started her career at KPMG Auditors as an auditor in the finance sector for seven years and reaching the position of Audit Manager gave her an incredible amount of detail oriented experience. After her time at KPMG she joined Monteverde Grupo Inmobiliario as the FINANCIAL DIRECTOR managing all assets and branches of the company in Spain, France, and the U.K. with a total value of over one billion Euros. During the years of the recession she specialized in creditor agreements, negotiations and the restructuring of companies facing insolvency or bankruptcy in different areas of business.
Having joined Ahora Asset Management in 2018 as CFO of the company she has been able to apply all of her past work experience with great success and ease contributing to the success of the company.

Marta Gómez / Business Development Director
Executive MBA (IE), Master Degree in Banking and Finance (EFA-AFI) and Bachelor in Business Administration. 20+ years as IR and in the equity research business, including underwriting IPO process of diverse Spanish companies. SAREB’s former Investor Relations Director, one of the biggest real estate management companies across Europe, was involved in the road shows and sale processes of several portfolios amounted c. €2bn and participated at various real estate forums in Europe an USA. Previously she developed her career as a Stock Market Analyst covering the real estate and infrastructure sector, she participated in the IPO of 6 companies.

Carlos Herrera / Portfolio Director
Industrial Engineer specializing in Industrial Organization and MBA in Escuela de Organización Industrial, with experience leading teams both from the perspective of Hedge Fund in Credigy Solutions and Servicer in Pepper Group. He has coordinated the management and recovery of all types of products, both secured and unsecured, in all types of delinquency status: performing, subperforming, non performing and REO. Recently, under its responsibility, he has been managing assets for an approximate AUM of 5,000 M euros. He has been involved in several of the largest recent transactions in the Spanish market as a servicer or advisor, all of them secured transactions. He has also had experience with different markets such as the US, Portugal, Greece and Cyprus.

Sara Herrero / Management Director
PhD in European Studies and Bachelor Degree in Economics. Economist with over 25 years of professional experience in areas related to economic-financial management, innovation and dissemination of economic content. With international and multidisciplinary experience in public and private companies and as independent consultant, dedicated to air cargo and passenger transport, film production, and professinal and university training.

Marta Arroyo / Commercial Director and Property Management
Bachelor´s degree in Law from the UCLM. She has developed her career as responsible of marketing and property management. Between 2000 and 2007 she helped set up the marketplace platforms and developed international real estate projects for Buildcom. Since then, she managed the expansion of the Proener group searching for real estate assets internationally. During the last years, she has led the marketing and valuation of more than 5,000 properties throughout Spain. Currently, she manages the Sales and Property Management department with more than 2,000 properties.

David Moreno Manzanares / Portfolio Manager
LL.M. in Corporate Legal Councelling – MAJ IE Business School. +10 years of experience as lawyer at International Companies and Banks working with mortgages granting and legal claim of foreclosures. Lawyer at UCI Union of Real Estate Credits S.L . (Banco Santander and BNP Paribas) risk department and mortgages. At Lindorff S.A. (Group Lindorff-Aktua-Intrum) he was legal counsel and director of judicial proceedings for claiming mortgage and non-mortgage debt. Lawyer for big tickets in portfolios Winston Cibeles and Corus at Gescobro Collection Services (Cerberus portfolio) and in portfolios TTI Finance and Cabot Asset Purchassed at Lucania Gestión S.L. (Grove Capital Management).

Juan Carlos García / Technical Coordinator
Manager with 20 years’ experience in executives positions, managing, projects, both wholesaler and retail,sales, marketing, people management and e-commerce. Beton Catalan, S.A. Concrete Plant Manager: Sales management, acquisition and negotiation with customers and facilities maintenance organization. Leroy Merlin. Sector Manager. Conducting market research, designing and defining
the commercial polic and team management. Saint-Gobain DC. La Plataforma de la Construcción. Opening of the first store in Spain, later Regional Manager for several provinces, incomes of 80 M€, 11 stores and a staff of 350 people. Member of the steering commitee for 12 years. Santiago Miranzo / Social Mediation Coordinator
A Law graduate in Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. ICAM Lawyer registered Nº 68721. Registered in the Ministry of Justice as a Mediator, with 20+ years experience. Has developed his professional career in the fields of mediation and coaching, working in Mediation Centers and in consulting companies or NGOs. Has coordinated teams of 20+ members. His career keeps him in a close relationship with social movements and civil platforms, participating in various conferences and publications. National coordinator of the “+ SOCIAL” PROGRAM in Ahora Asset Management. Social mediation and negotiation in conflicts related to housing problems: illegal occupation, squatters, previous owners, past-due rent payments.
